The Faculty of Medicine through the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has every year since 2008 partnered with  MEDLEND Medical Missions to train doctors and students in Fistula Surgery and other Pelvic floor operations.

The collaboration has helped build the capacity of surgeons and other health workers at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in Obstetrics Fistula care on top of helping the disadvantaged women who suffer from Urine leakage as a result of Obstetric fistula in South Western Uganda.
