Community Based Education Research and Service (COBERS) 2023

The LCP 4311; Leadership and Community Placement course is mandatory and interdisciplinary, involving all programs offered within the Faculty of Medicine at MUST. The course introduces the learner to; Leadership, Primary Health Care, One-health, and Systems thinking, in line with the demands of the 21^st Century, considering immerging and re-immerging health problems and diseases.

The COBERS placement 2023 started with an online preplacement orientation week from 24^th to 28^th April, followed by a community from 29^th April to 17^th May 2023.

Students undertook a needs assessment within the communities. Several community health challenges were identified and students together with the community came up with low-cost interventions to address the challenges. These interventions range from mobilizing communities, health education talks, screening for illnesses, managing patients, and cleaning to improve sanitation.
