Rabies encephalitis is a disease that is of great public health importance. It is common in children less than 15 years caused by the rabies virus. This follows a bite from an infected animal – commonly dogs . It is fatal but can be prevented through good public health program. The paediatrics and child health department will present Rabies in children, its presentation, management and most importantly, the public health significance of the disease in our setting.
