Dr. Mugyenyi R, Godfrey  is a Senior Lecturer and clinician Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Faculty of Medicine, Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MUST 2002) and a Master of Medicine (MUST 2007). His masters dissertation was in the field of HIV focussing on caring for pregnant women infected with HIV. He is a lead Tutor, HIV/AIDS in pregnancy in the department. He has attended several short relevant professional couses including elective Placement in colposcopy, diagnostic and therapeutic Hysteroscopy, introduction to laparoscopic surgery and gynecological oncology at the Universita Magna Graecia di Catanzaro Italy, clinical Observer ship, St. Micheals Hospital, Bristol University, UK and Basic Ultrasound Training Course, PURE/MGH/Mbarara University.

Dr. Mugyenyi is experiences in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervising student and graduate research activities, teaching and supervising intern doctors in the field of reproductive health. He also plans and conducts standard clinical/oral and written examinations for undergraduate and post graduate examinations. He has wide experience in managing simple and complicated Obstetrics and Gynaecological conditions, carrying out and instructing residents/postgraduate students in Emergency and Elective surgery

He has worked with the Ugandan Ministry of health and its development partners in development and implementation of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV guidelines including antiretroviral medications.
