Florence Beinempaka MNSc, BNSc, RN

Florence is a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience, and, prior to joining the teaching role, held managerial positions in the hospital including settings in paediatrics and chest infectious disease. She is the currently acting head of Department of Nursing at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.  She has held this position since 2011. She is also a clinical instructor for the BNS students in paediatric nursing at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.

She has worked within communities to improve the livelihood of mothers and their children so that the mortality of mothers and their newborns is reduced to levels projected for the current Millennium development Goals (MDG).  Her research interests include maternal and child health, specifically the village folk practices of caring for newborns and postpartum mothers.
